About him
Intelligent, sensitive and creative. I am young at heart and well-travelled. I realise the simple things in life are important and understand the value of family and friends. I have an eclectic taste in music. I am awe of the beauty of the natural world and it fragility. Life is so very, very short.
After a successful Engineering career, achieved a Degree in Design & Technology as a Mature Student and chose to take Early Retirement while I was reasonably fit, healthy and curious to pursue a variety of interests and travel (see below). Photographs taken August 2020.
In a recent survey on 50 tasks and challenges we should attempt for a fulfilling life I managed to score 38 out of 50 with the average person only able to tick off 8 out of 50. So I guess up to now I have had a very fulfilling life.
During this early retirement have accumulated a wide range of interests from A-Z: Architecture, art, badminton, design, dining out, diy, films, friends, gardening, hiking, history, hygge, mindfulness, music, National Trust, philosophy, photography, poetry (20 poems published), reading, travel (Greek Classical Sights: Athens, Delphi, Ephesus, Olympia and Islands) + Italy: (Florence, Rome, Venice), UK favourites (Chester, Liverpool, The Lakes, York), watercolours and Zen. Any mutual interests there we have in common to have a conversation?
Post Covid-19 passions: Walks in Nature, Gardening, my next break to the loveliest spot that Wordsworth and I hath ever found (Loughrigg Terrace, The Lakes).
