About her
I am a rocket factory worker turned author, a sensual woman. A proud mother of two beautiful Euroasian daughters. A Chinese with Latin blood. And a dreamer.
Hailing from a poor working-class family on the banks of the Yangtze River, I was taken out of school at 16 and put to work at a military factory. Learning English has changed my life and brought me to England more than thirty years ago. It's been a long journey and I feel extremely fortunate to get where I am now: to be able to pursue my passion for writing and many of my interests. A full-time writer (in English), I write both fiction and non-fiction. Yet I am not the most prolific one: I’ve long decided that it is more important to live an interesting life than to achieve highly. I'd like to think I am kind, curious, empathetic and a lifetime learner. I am also feminine.(except when I laugh too loudly) Comfortable in my skin, I get along easily with people and I have many friends all over the world. A caring and giving person, I take pleasure in helping others. A seasoned traveller, I've tasted the golden peaches from Samarkand, watched the mass games in North Korea; trekked in the Tajik mountains; camped in the Mongolia steppes; danced in Cuba; and hiked up to Mount Everest. I also lived in Uzbekistan and America. A nature and outdoor lover, I enjoy taking long walks and hikes. I am fit and sporty, exercising daily and eating healthily but adventurously.
The challenges I've experienced have taught me to appreciate what I do have, and I am very good at squeezing little joys out of life. I have so much to give. And I always make people laugh.
An excellent and creative cook, I have a big appetite for food and indeed, for life.
About her ideal match
A man with a sharp and curious mind; a gentle and warm heart; and a decent-sized ego (i.e, not oversized), well-educated, well-read, literary and cosmopolitan. He is reasonably easygoing, not too set in his ways, I hope, and he is not too emotionally constipated. Someone with a few interests or passions, hopefully, in literature, current affairs, the theatre, world cinema, or some other creative activities or intellectual pursuits. I find the drive and energy in a man most attractive. Please be a keen reader. More importantly, please be nice. I value kindness more than anything else.
