I'm curious by nature, enjoy a good laugh and believe there's always something new to discover, whether that's an unfamiliar place, an interesting conversation or a dish I've never tried cooking before.
I love travelling, exploring historic towns and discovering the little places you might miss if you're in too much of a hurry. I've recently returned from Spain with some lovely memories, new friends and several ideas for the kitchen. Sadly, the sunshine and someone else doing the washing-up didn't come home with me!
I'm equally happy enjoying life's simpler pleasures. A leisurely breakfast, a spontaneous day out, something delicious simmering on the hob or a conversation that carries on long after the coffee has gone cold. I particularly enjoy those moments when something unexpectedly funny happens and becomes a shared joke.
I've had an interesting working life, recently started my own business and have a crime novel in progress. I enjoy what I do, value my independence and always seem to have another idea or adventure waiting in the wings.
It would be lovely to meet a kind, thoughtful gentleman with a sense of humour, an interest in the world around him and a few adventures of his own still to enjoy. Someone who appreciates good conversation, shared laughter and the pleasure of getting to know one another without rushing to decide where it might lead.

I'd love to meet a kind, intelligent gentleman with a warm personality, a mischievous sense of humour and a genuine interest in the world around him. Someone who enjoys good conversation, can laugh at himself occasionally and doesn't take life quite so seriously that he forgets to have fun.
I find curiosity attractive. You don't need to have travelled the world or have an encyclopaedic knowledge of everything, but an interest in discovering new places, exchanging ideas and trying something different would be lovely. Equally, someone who appreciates the simple pleasures of life, whether that's a leisurely Sunday morning, a countryside walk, a delicious meal or an evening spent putting the world to rights over a glass of something nice.
I admire a man who is comfortable in his own skin, treats people with kindness and has his own interests, friendships and ambitions. I value my independence and would naturally respect his. I think the nicest relationships are those where two people enjoy their individual lives but discover that sharing parts of them makes everything that little bit better.
A little old-fashioned courtesy wouldn't go amiss, either, although a twinkle in the eye and the ability to make me laugh would probably win me over far more quickly than grand romantic gestures.
Ultimately, I'm hoping to meet someone with whom conversation flows easily, laughter comes naturally and friendship has the opportunity to grow into something rather special. No rush, no grand expectations, just two people enjoying getting to know one another and seeing where life takes them.
