About her
I tend to take life as it comes and enjoy what surprises come my way. Although not going out of my way to find a partner, it would be great if fate were to steer someone into my life.
It's interesting to meet people from all walks of life and travelling is a great way to do this. It would be far more enjoyable however sharing the experience with a special someone.
During summer 2015 I had the pleasure of visiting Loch Ness and Glen Affric. It is an experience I shall treasure as long as I live. I had no idea there was so much natural beauty in my native Scotland. It has left me with a great longing to further explore the Highlands and Islands. I just cannot wait! I've got the walking shoes, so all I need now is a companion.
I spend my 'me time' quite happily doing things like reading, gardening, sudoku, watching quality programmes on TV i.e. NOT soaps! In winter evenings I occasionally enlist a friend for a game of scrabble. Summer months are mainly given over to time at my local bowling club, walking, gardening, weekends away etc.
Since retiring from teaching it has become apparent that I need to start doing things on my own, the sort of stuff you would normally do as a couple, such as going to the cinema or theatre. I am just returned from a week on the Isle of Skye (Feb 2016) which was awe inspiring, despite some horrendous weather. It gave me to thinking how daunting it would be to motor through Glencoe on my own, especially if my car were to get stuck in snow and there was no signal on my mobile phone!!.... No, definitely need a gallant knight to accompany me on such ventures!
About her ideal match
My ideal match would be someone who is easy going and with a sense of adventure. I have always thought of myself as a free spirit and am happy to do things, 'ad hoc' when opportunities arise. (This doesn't help with being organised, by the way, but I do get my priorities right.) I'd like to meet someone who is equally spontaneous so that one never quite knows what tomorrow holds in store. As I said already, I like surprises.
My family is important to me and I would like to meet someone who appreciates the need to nurture these ties. Having said that, I also understand the importance of pursuing my own interests and spending quality time with a partner. Maintaining a balance is the key in all aspects of life.
It would probably be simpler to say what type of person I don't wish to meet but I try to accept people as they are. So long as they are agreeable and equally tolerant then there should be no problem. But the chemistry has to be there too!
