About her
I am quite quiet and shy but once people get to know me they realise that I have a good sense of humour. I have been a vegetarian since the early 1980s and am now toying with the idea of cutting out on more animal produce in my diet, in particular milk and milk based products.
I like people to be straightforward and honest and I dislike pomposity and dishonesty.
I enjoy running and this year will be doing as many 10k races as I can, aiming for one per month. I have done 141 parkruns to date and love both my home parkrun and tourist parkruns. I also volunteer about every ten weeks. I did not take up running until I was 59 and prior to that did not participate in any sporting activity at all. As well as running my two other passions are football (watching not playing) and politics. I have supported Liverpool FC since I was a child and have supported Cheltenham Town for about 20 years. I am a member of the Labour Party.
I like to think that I am a principled person and try to live my life according to my fundamental beliefs which will become evident once you get to know me.
About her ideal match
I would like to meet someone who is also principled and preferably of a left wing perspective. It would be great if a potential match were keen on walking, running and / or watching football but these are not essential. Above all you must be kind and considerate.
As I am a quiet person I would enjoy the company of someone who also likes a relatively quiet life (but not boring).
I have been on my own for quite a long time and would like someone who I can share some evenings and week-ends with (even if it is just a phone call). It would be great to be able to go to the cinema or out for a drink / meal with someone else of a similar age to me and of the opposite sex. Holidays would be fun too - either in the UK or abroad.
