About her
Friends say I'm caring and compassionate, good company and an optimist. Honesty and integrity are very important to me. I'd say I'm quite down to earth but not very practical. I can hold an intelligent conversation if needs be and I have a good, sometimes irreverent, sense of humour. I enjoy quizzes, puzzles or a good book on a quiet night in. Equally, it's so wonderful to be able to socialise again, whether it be visits to the cinema, theatre, gigs, wining and dining or a walk along the beach. My interests are many and varied including current affairs, politics and medieval history. I enjoy watching many sports and come from a rugby mad family. I try to keep active: walking and swimming in particular. I enjoy many genres of music, though my tastes in pop and rock seem to be stuck in the 70s snd 80s! I don't listen to enough since my children left home! I have three adult children, two daughters who live in SE England and a son and granddaughter here in Cornwall. We meet up as often as we can. I also have a cat (resident) and, on occasion, a dog - my granddogter! I mind her for my daughter when she's away on holiday. I, too, love to travel - anywhere! It's the act of travelling that I enjoy; being on the move and off to see something different. And it's so much more fun as a shared experience.
I'm still earning a crust, working for the last 26 years in a school, but retirement and freedom from routine are on the horizon and then I hope to do a bit more travelling, both at home and abroad. It would be great to have you along for the journey!

My ideal match would be someone who could be my best friend and more. Someone with an interest in travel and current affairs; a man who is confident, with nothing to prove, at ease with himself. A kind man. I'm looking for someone who can make me think, make me laugh and, most of all, is good company. Tolerance and being able to laugh at yourself are must-haves while mutual respect and shared values are essential to a healthy relationship.
