About her
I am quite an outgoing person who is rarely at a loss for words. I can mix with all sorts of people. I trained as a teacher, and taught for many years in England and South Africa, but am now retired.
I like eating out, and am fairly adventurous with this, I also like the cinema, and occasionally, the theatre. I enjoy people with a sense of humour, and I do not like smugness or impatient people.
I enjoy reading, especially historical novels, e.g. Alison Weir, Philippa Gregory, but also enjoy crime, especially Robert Harris.
I belong to a Journaling group and a writing group, and we produce an anthology every year, featuring our short stories. I have written 5 novels, all of them unpublished but might consider self publishing in the future. 3 of these novels are historical. I also enjoy hiking and gardening, and used to run an allotment until cartilage problems forced me to give up.
I am a widow and I love company, which is why I decided to use this website. I think it is one I could trust to meet interesting people who are still interested in engaging with the world and its people.

My late husband was quieter than me and was a construction manager. He was practical and athletic and participated in many sports. I am not as sporty, so would probably get along with someone who shares my interests but has some interest in physical activities such as hiking and gardening.
Looks are relatively unimportant, I guess I am a sucker for a nice smile and a sense of humour, these would be deal breakers for me.
